3-D Works
Below are many of the works that I experimented with after taking a three-dimensional art materials class that focused on plaster, wood, and paper. Included is my capstone project on the stigma of mental health and medication that allowed me to graduate from Georgia College. Artist Statement: In the current time where the treatment of mental health is moving further away from more traditional practices, ie; “couch therapy” and into a more creative outlet such as art and music therapy, my multimedia work explores chemicality and stereotypes within mental health. I am focused on many illnesses, emotions and stereotypes using resin and pills to signify the most common treatment among those with mental illness: medication. I rely heavily on color theory and pattern to stimulate the brain as well as the eye. My resin castings are inspired by Fred Thomaselli and Loz City which lends itself to my use of pills and patterns.
